WE PASS successfully ends the academic year 2017-2018
After two active years, on October 18th, 2018, the Program of Academic Support for Students (WE PASS) concluded the academic year 2017-2018. At the concluding ceremony, the organizing committee evaluated the achievements gained during this year, granted certificates and appreciated the volunteers in the project. It also issued new objectives for the next year.   Starting from April, 2017, WE PASS has entered its 3rd active year of helping USSH's students improve their academic performance. The concluding ceremony of the year 2017-2018 was also an occasion to appreciate and say goodbye to the founding members of the program.     After learning about the results made during the year 2017-2018 by WE PASS, Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Anh Tuan shared some of his feelings to its members. To him, WE PASS is the most impressive program implemented by the University's Youth Union. WE PASS directly supports students in their learning and research process. However, apart from membership expansion, the organizing committee have to consider improving the quality of its review classes. Besides, the University's functional offices such as Office for Politics and Student Affairs and Office for Academic Affairs have to support the program more vigorously.     In response, Dr. Pham Huy Cuong said WE PASS were sucessfully realizing the objectives given by the Youth Union and CASA, which was helping students resolve their problems and improve their academic scores. However, he expected in the next years to further extend the project's impact, making it a familiar destination for students on a regular and frequent basis.   MA. Ta Bich Ngoc (USSH's Youth Union's Deputy Secretary, Head of the specialty Division), who is directly in charge of WE PASS, listened to the suggestions and set out objectives for the new year such as increasing the number of review classes, opening more classes for specific subjects, and further answering the questions posed by students of their study.     To appreciate the contributions by the volunteers that supported WE PASS during the year 2017-2018, the organizing committee granted certificates for 9 review instructors that were students, alumni and 13 members of the committee's specialized groups. Next MA. Ta Bich Ngoc and representatives of USSH's Youth Union sent gifts and thanks to the founding members of WE PASS. On behalf of the former members, Head of the Organizing Committee of WE PASS 2017-2018 Tran Trong Hieu thanked his teachers and friends, confirming that although the former members are no longer in the program, they are willing to provide support whenever it is needed.
WE PASS is a project assisting students taking exams supported by the USSH's Youth Union and Center for Academic Support and Advising (CASA). The program started in April 2017; in the year 2017-2018, the program became an official activity of the Youth Union's specialty Division, and entered its 3 year of operation. WE PASS holds review classes on the subjects deemed challenging by students before each examination. The instructors are students and alumni that have scored high academic achievements and are willing to share knowledge with other students. WE PASS does not limit the number of participants nor make any profit from a review class.  During the year 2017-2018, WE PASS made the following achievements:
  • 7 subjects covered so far: Principles of Marxist-Leninism 1, Principles of Marxist-Leninism 2, Statistics for social sciences, General economics, General logic, Basic informatics, Overview of State and Laws.
  • The total number of classes during the year 2017-2018 was 28 (thrice the number of the last year).
  • 100% of the instructors are students and alumni.
  • The average number of students in review classes: 22.
  • In two classes the instructors were students from other universities.
